This artwork by Hiro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2019. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Apollo - 11, 9:32 A. M. 7-16-69 Maiden Voyage To The Moon' sold for USD 60,000.00 (€ 53,566.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hiro; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Apollo - 11, 9:32 A. M. 7-16-69 Maiden Voyage To The Moon' sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of USD 63,000.00 (€ 59,789.31).
