Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hiro could be acquired at Phillips in New York in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation auction, the work Akiko on the Black Lava of Hawaii changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,575.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Apollo - 11, 9:32 A. M. 7-16-69 Maiden Voyage To The Moon' in April last year with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 59,789.31).
