In September 2007 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Post- War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Beach--110 by Hilo Chen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,670.16), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hilo Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach 96 in October 2020 with an auction result of EUR 107,100.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im September 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Post- War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beach--110 von Hilo Chen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.670,16) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hilo Chen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach 96 im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 107.100,00.
