Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Portrait Of A Modern Person Wearing A Mask by Hikari Shimoda was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 4,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 20,160.00 (€ 2,131.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hikari Shimoda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whereabouts Of God No.31 in September 2020 with an auction result of HKD 226,800.00 (€ 24,967.74).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of A Modern Person Wearing A Mask von Hikari Shimoda im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 4.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 20.160,00 (€ 2.131,07) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hikari Shimoda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Whereabouts Of God No.31 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 226.800,00 (€ 24.967,74).
