Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hikari Shimoda achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop auction, the work Children Living In Transparent Darkness #3 sold for HKD 113,400.00 (€ 11,987.26) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hikari Shimoda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Whereabouts Of God No.31, which sold at auction in September 2020 for HKD 226,800.00 (€ 24,967.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hikari Shimoda erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop wurde die Arbeit Children Living In Transparent Darkness #3 für HKD 113.400,00 (€ 11.987,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hikari Shimoda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Whereabouts Of God No.31 beobachtet, die im September 2020 für HKD 226.800,00 (€ 24.967,74) versteigert wurde.
