Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Metamorphosis (Fotoplastik) by Herbert Bayer was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,820.00 (€ 8,370.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert Bayer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mirage In The Mountains in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 139,427.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Metamorphosis (Fotoplastik) von Herbert Bayer wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 8.370,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herbert Bayer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mirage In The Mountains im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 139.427,98).
