Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled #151 by Hellen van Meene was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 698.26). Admittedly, works by Hellen van Meene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,453.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled #151 von Hellen van Meene im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 750,00 (€ 698,26) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hellen van Meene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.453,60).
