signed and with a fly 'HELEN BRADLEY (lower left), signed again, inscribed and dated '"What a lovely Evening", said/mother, as we walked back to the/village to meet Grandpa, who had/the horse and trap ready to take us/back into Blackpool. George and I/gathered some daisys and poppys[sic]/to give to Grandma when we saw/her, "Doesn't this soft dusk remind/you of that lovely poem" .. "Between the/Dusk and the Daylight, when the light is/beginning to lower, comes a pause in/the Days occupation, which is known as/the Childrens Hour," That's lovely isn't it,"/said Aunt Frances, and the year was/1907./Helen Layfield Bradley' (on a label attached to the backboard)

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work What a Lovely Evening by Helen Layfield Bradley was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in March 2012. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 13,125.00 (€ 15,734.45). Admittedly, works by Helen Layfield Bradley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Our First Morning in Blackpool in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 94,100.00 (€ 131,764.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit What a Lovely Evening von Helen Layfield Bradley wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 13.125,00 (€ 15.734,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Helen Layfield Bradley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Our First Morning in Blackpool im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.100,00 (€ 131.764,35).
