signed 'HELEN BRADLEY' and with a fly (lower left); inscribed and dated 'We were going home through the/back lanes behind Blackpool after/gathering holly and ivy. Christmas/would soon be here, and the day being/bright and clear, everyone, including/Miss Carter(who wore pink) and Mr Taylor/(the bank Manager) thought it a good idea/to get our decorations gathered together/in case it should snow again. This artwork by Helen Layfield Bradley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2017. In the Modern/British Art Online auction, the work Going Home sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,216.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Helen Layfield Bradley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Our First Morning in Blackpool in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 94,100.00 (€ 131,764.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Helen Layfield Bradley erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern/British Art Online wurde die Arbeit Going Home für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.216,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Helen Layfield Bradley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Our First Morning in Blackpool im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.100,00 (€ 131.764,35).
