Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Harvey Quaytman could be acquired at Phillips in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work Merlin changed hands for USD 6,930.00 (€ 7,083.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Harvey Quaytman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walnut, Slate and Clay in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 47,880.00 (€ 39,149.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Harvey Quaytman konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit Merlin für USD 6.930,00 (€ 7.083,72) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harvey Quaytman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walnut, Slate and Clay im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 39.149,63).
