In October last year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Shelter) by Harold Ancart. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 75,600.00 (€ 88,073.16), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Harold Ancart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,018,500.00 (€ 835,246.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Shelter) von Harold Ancart zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 88.073,16) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harold Ancart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.018.500,00 (€ 835.246,84).
