Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flux No. 4—A Cycle of Oil Paintings by Hans Hofmann was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,600.00 (€ 70,959.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Hofmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Leise Zieht Durch Mein Gemüt Liebliches Geläute (Mellow Sound Of Bells Rings Gently Through My Mind) in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 8,597,150.00 (€ 7,592,643.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Flux No. 4—A Cycle of Oil Paintings von Hans Hofmann kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 70.959,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hans Hofmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Leise Zieht Durch Mein Gemüt Liebliches Geläute (Mellow Sound Of Bells Rings Gently Through My Mind) im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.597.150,00 (€ 7.592.643,29).
