HANNE DARBOVEN (1941-2009) Hommage an meinen Vater the complete set of 96 offset lithographs in colors (twelve with collaged photograph), on white cardboard, 1989, initialed in ball-point pen on a label affixed to the portfolio box, number 35 of 50 (there were also eight artist's proof sets), published by Edition Schellmann, Munich, New York, loose (as issued), each the full sheet, in very good condition, together with the original cloth covered clamshell box Overall: 17 1 ⁄ 4 x 12 1 ⁄ 4 x 1 7 ⁄ 8 in. (447 x 310 x 46 mm.)
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hommage an meinen Vater by Hanne Darboven was sold in the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online auction at Christies in New York in April this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,134.00 (€ 1,027.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hanne Darboven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Konstruktionen“. in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 93,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hommage an meinen Vater von Hanne Darboven wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.134,00 (€ 1.027,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hanne Darboven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Konstruktionen“. im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 93.750,00.
