Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Für Sol LeWitt by Hanne Darboven was auctioned at Phillips in London in July 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,820.89). Admittedly, works by Hanne Darboven have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work „Konstruktionen“. in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 93,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Für Sol LeWitt von Hanne Darboven im Juli 2021 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.820,89) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hanne Darboven auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit „Konstruktionen“. im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 93.750,00.
