Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Senza titolo by Hanne Darboven was auctioned at Christies in Milan in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,134.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hanne Darboven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Konstruktionen“. in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 93,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Senza titolo von Hanne Darboven im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Mailand versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.134,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hanne Darboven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Konstruktionen“. im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 93.750,00.
