Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2020 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Lessons on Love by Hamra Abbas. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,487.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hamra Abbas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Please Do Not Step I, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,797.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lessons on Love von Hamra Abbas zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.487,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Hamra Abbas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Please Do Not Step I beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.797,27) versteigert wurde.
