Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lessons On Love by Hamra Abbas was sold in the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in London in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,481.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hamra Abbas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Please Do Not Step I, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,797.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lessons On Love von Hamra Abbas wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.481,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Hamra Abbas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Please Do Not Step I beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.797,27) versteigert wurde.
