The work Hidden Mask 1 by Halim Al-Karim was sold in the Contemporary Art Day auction at Phillips in London in February 2009. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,160.68), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Halim Al-Karim - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (From The Urban Witness Series), which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 36,072.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Hidden Mask 1 von Halim Al-Karim wurde im Februar 2009 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.160,68) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Halim Al-Karim mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (From The Urban Witness Series) beobachtet, die im April 2013 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 36.072,30) versteigert wurde.
