Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hidden Witnesses by Halim Al-Karim was auctioned at Bonhams in London in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,713.44). Admittedly, works by Halim Al-Karim have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (From The Urban Witness Series) in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 36,072.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hidden Witnesses von Halim Al-Karim im August 2021 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.713,44) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Halim Al-Karim auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (From The Urban Witness Series) im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 36.072,30).
