Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hidden War 2 by Halim Al-Karim was auctioned at Bonhams in London in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,970.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Halim Al-Karim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (From The Urban Witness Series) in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 36,072.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hidden War 2 von Halim Al-Karim im August 2021 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.970,75) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Halim Al-Karim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (From The Urban Witness Series) im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 36.072,30).
