HAJIME SORAYAMA (B.1947) The Midas Touch gold plated porcelain multiple, 2019, numbered 002 underneath from the edition of 100 (there were also ten artist's proofs), co-published by the artist and Case Studyo, Belgium, with the original wooden box Overall: 335 x 75 x 55 mm. Box: 400 x 160 x 120 mm.
Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hajime Sorayama achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September last year. In the Laugh now but one day we’ll be in charge: Banksy and 21st Century Editions auction, the work The Midas Touch sold for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,604.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hajime Sorayama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sexy Robot, Life Size Seating Model B in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,750,000.00 (€ 651,307.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hajime Sorayama erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Laugh now but one day we’ll be in charge: Banksy and 21st Century Editions wurde die Arbeit The Midas Touch für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.604,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hajime Sorayama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sexy Robot, Life Size Seating Model B im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.750.000,00 (€ 651.307,65).
