Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work T-Rex Cyborg by Hajime Sorayama was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 10,710.00 (€ 1,283.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hajime Sorayama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sexy Robot, Life Size Seating Model B in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,750,000.00 (€ 651,307.65).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit T-Rex Cyborg von Hajime Sorayama im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 2.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 10.710,00 (€ 1.283,44) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hajime Sorayama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sexy Robot, Life Size Seating Model B im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.750.000,00 (€ 651.307,65).
