The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,664.00 (€ 1,928.21), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Taplin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty Spoonbills in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,886.88).

Die Arbeit Miniature Preening Curlew 12cm (4 3/4in) high von Guy Taplin wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.664,00 (€ 1.928,21) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Taplin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty Spoonbills im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.886,88).
