This artwork by Guy Taplin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Miniature Cormorant; Miniature Preening Grebe 10cm (3 15/16in) long; 6.5cm (2 9/16in) long sold for GBP 1,408.00 (€ 1,631.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Taplin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty Spoonbills in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,886.88).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Guy Taplin erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Miniature Cormorant; Miniature Preening Grebe 10cm (3 15/16in) long; 6.5cm (2 9/16in) long für GBP 1.408,00 (€ 1.631,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Taplin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty Spoonbills im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.886,88).
