The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,742.42), 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Guy Taplin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twenty Spoonbills in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,886.88).

Die Arbeit Cormorant von Guy Taplin wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion British Country Life bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.742,42) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guy Taplin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twenty Spoonbills im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.886,88).
