This work of art by Gustave Caillebotte could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Falaise En Normandie changed hands for USD 764,000.00 (€ 693,347.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Caillebotte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).
