Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mosquitoes And Moths Series by Guo Wei was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 27,500.00 (€ 3,130.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guo Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bathroom Series No. 4 in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 1,327,500.00 (€ 109,288.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mosquitoes And Moths Series von Guo Wei im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 27.500,00 (€ 3.130,30) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guo Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bathroom Series No. 4 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.327.500,00 (€ 109.288,40).
