Guo Wei was born in Chengdu，Sichuan in 1960.He graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1989.His work was featured in the 1992 Guangzhou Biennial Art Fair，where achieved award nomination，providing him with his first edge in the art world.The following year，he was bestowed the academic award at the First Biennial Exhibition of Chinese Oil Paintings.From the mid-1990’s through today，he has been an active participant in the international art scene，holding solo exhibitions in Japan，Singapore，the United Kingdom，the United States，and France.The fundamental characteristics of Guo Wei’s art are his exaggeration of realism and his perform

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Splash Series No.11 & No.12(Painted In 1996) by Guo Wei was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2017. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 56,640.00 (€ 6,233.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guo Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bathroom Series No. 4 in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 1,327,500.00 (€ 109,288.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Splash Series No.11 & No.12(Painted In 1996) von Guo Wei kam im Oktober 2017 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 56.640,00 (€ 6.233,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guo Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bathroom Series No. 4 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.327.500,00 (€ 109.288,40).
