Despite a disappointment, a good price for Guo Bochuan
When the work The Forbidden City by Guo Bochuan was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000,000.00 – 40,000,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 27,207,500.00 (€ 2,242,241.94). Despite this disappointing result, The Forbidden City is the most expensive artwork by Guo Bochuan that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Guo Bochuan
Als die Arbeit The Forbidden City von Guo Bochuan im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000.000,00 – 40.000.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 27.207.500,00 (€ 2.242.241,94) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist The Forbidden City das teuerste Kunstwerk von Guo Bochuan, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
