Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Scenery of lotus pond in Beijing by Guo Bochuan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2004. It achieved a price of HKD 286,800.00 (€ 28,891.51), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guo Bochuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Forbidden City in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 27,207,500.00 (€ 2,242,241.94).
