Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Magician and mystic; Zameen Asman-1 by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 33,460.00 (€ 4,765.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work How Can You Sleep Tonight? in March last year with an auction result of USD 2,040,000.00 (€ 1,838,997.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Magician and mystic; Zameen Asman-1 von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh kam im April 2002 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 33.460,00 (€ 4.765,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit How Can You Sleep Tonight? im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.040.000,00 (€ 1.838.997,57).
