Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Sursagar by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh. The price achieved of USD 100,000.00 (€ 88,983.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work How Can You Sleep Tonight? in March last year with an auction result of USD 2,040,000.00 (€ 1,838,997.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sursagar von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 88.983,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit How Can You Sleep Tonight? im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.040.000,00 (€ 1.838.997,57).
