This artwork by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Mumbai in December 2015. In the The India Sale auction, the work Beyond The Ridge sold for INR 14,625,000.00 (€ 203,368.17) - well above the upper estimate of INR 7,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work How Can You Sleep Tonight? in March last year with an auction result of USD 2,040,000.00 (€ 1,838,997.57).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh erzielte im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in Mumbai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The India Sale wurde die Arbeit Beyond The Ridge für INR 14.625.000,00 (€ 203.368,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von INR 7.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gulam Mohammed Sheikh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit How Can You Sleep Tonight? im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.040.000,00 (€ 1.838.997,57).
