This artwork by Guan Si achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in October 2016. In the Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Poetic Gathering sold for HKD 4,720,000.00 (€ 555,446.09) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 2,200,000.00. This high result makes Poetic Gathering the most expensive artwork by Guan Si that we have observed at auctions so far.
