Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Oranges No. 3 (What Fire Murmurs Its Sedition) by Grace Hartigan. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 48,823.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Hartigan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Early November in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,380,000.00 (€ 1,285,993.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oranges No. 3 (What Fire Murmurs Its Sedition) von Grace Hartigan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 48.823,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grace Hartigan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Early November im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.380.000,00 (€ 1.285.993,85).
