Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Sacrifice of Iphigenia by Giuseppe Piattoli was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2003. The price achieved of GBP 998.75 (€ 1,414.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Piattoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An album of thirty-six pages bound between boards, comprising compositional and academic studies, including scenes from the Old and New Testament and classical mythology in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,138.08).
