Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Giovanni Paolo Panini could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Rome, A View Of The Forum Looking Towards The Capitol changed hands for GBP 392,750.00 (€ 438,248.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Paolo Panini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,317,000.00 (€ 4,709,477.41).
