Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rome, A View Of The Forum Looking Towards The Capitol by Giovanni Paolo Panini was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 965,000.00 (€ 1,146,628.76). Admittedly, works by Giovanni Paolo Panini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,317,000.00 (€ 4,709,477.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rome, A View Of The Forum Looking Towards The Capitol von Giovanni Paolo Panini im Juli 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 965.000,00 (€ 1.146.628,76) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Paolo Panini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.317.000,00 (€ 4.709.477,41).
