The work An architectural capriccio with the Temple Antoninus and Faustina, the Capitoline lion, the Farnese Hercules, the Colosseum, the Pyramid of Cestius, the Arch of Constantine, the Sarcophagus of Saint Helena, with classical figures conversing by Giovanni Paolo Panini was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings auction at Christies in London in October 2015. It achieved a price of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 104,206.89), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Paolo Panini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,317,000.00 (€ 4,709,477.41).
