Description
GIORGIO MORANDI (1890-1964) Vaso a strisce con fiori etching, 1924, on cream India appliqué on wove paper, signed and dated in pencil, numbered 24/60, Vitali's second state (of three), additionally signed and dedicated ' Alla Signora Maria Venturi, Bologna, 10 Maggio 1952, Giorgio Morandi ' in pencil on the reverse Plate 235 x 200 mm. Sheet 348 x 297 mm.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Vaso A Strisce Con Fiori by Giorgio Morandi. The price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,170.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio Morandi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Natura morta in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,332,500.00 (€ 3,712,510.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vaso A Strisce Con Fiori von Giorgio Morandi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.170,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio Morandi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Natura morta im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.332.500,00 (€ 3.712.510,71).
