In November last year Christies in New York held the auction 20th Century Evening Sale, which included the work Natura morta by Giorgio Morandi. The auction ended at the price of USD 1,500,000.00 (€ 1,453,065.97), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giorgio Morandi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Natura morta, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 4,332,500.00 (€ 3,712,510.71).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Natura morta von Giorgio Morandi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.500.000,00 (€ 1.453.065,97) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Giorgio Morandi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Natura morta beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 4.332.500,00 (€ 3.712.510,71) versteigert wurde.
