engraving, circa 1565, a good impression, trimmed on or just outside the outer borderline, laid down and mounted in an Italian 18th century paper mount with framing lines in pen and brown ink, slightly stained at the edge of the old mount outside the subject, the subject in good condition; with Eros and the Three Graces, from the Spandrels of the Ghigi Gallery (B. 344) by Marcantonio Raimondi after Raphael, a good impression

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allegorical Figure holding a Sphere (Bartsch 34) by Giorgio Ghisi was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2007. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,649.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giorgio Ghisi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegory Of Life ('The Dream Of Raphael') (B. 67; Lewis 28) in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,546.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Allegorical Figure holding a Sphere (Bartsch 34) von Giorgio Ghisi kam im März 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.649,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giorgio Ghisi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Allegory Of Life ('The Dream Of Raphael') (B. 67; Lewis 28) im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.546,23).
