Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work Five Plates, from: The Sistine Chapel by Giorgio Ghisi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,964.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Giorgio Ghisi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegory Of Life ('The Dream Of Raphael') (B. 67; Lewis 28) in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,546.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Five Plates, from: The Sistine Chapel von Giorgio Ghisi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.964,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giorgio Ghisi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Allegory Of Life ('The Dream Of Raphael') (B. 67; Lewis 28) im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.546,23).
