Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Heatwave: Online Auction, which included the work Pair of side chairs designed for the Montecatini Office Building, Milan by Gio Ponti. The price achieved of GBP 1,512.00 (€ 1,773.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gio Ponti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Rare and Important Low Table in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 143,750.00 (€ 163,903.14).
