Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2020 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Hard-Edged: Online Auction, which included the work Set of eight dining chairs by Gio Ponti. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,222.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gio Ponti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Rare and Important Low Table in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 143,750.00 (€ 163,903.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2020 führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion Hard-Edged: Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Set of eight dining chairs von Gio Ponti zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.222,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gio Ponti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Rare and Important Low Table im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 143.750,00 (€ 163.903,14).
