Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Charlize Crying, 2001 by Gilles Bensimon was auctioned at Christies in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,328.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gilles Bensimon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elle and Friends Number 3, which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,822.70).

Die Arbeit Charlize Crying, 2001 von Gilles Bensimon kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.328,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gilles Bensimon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elle and Friends Number 3 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.822,70) versteigert wurde.
