Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Winter Scene At Upper Basildon by Gilbert Spencer. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,369.39), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Scene At Upper Basildon von Gilbert Spencer zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.369,39) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man at a sluice gate on the Thames im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.695,82).
