Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Winter trees by Gilbert Spencer for GBP 750.00 (€ 945.94). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Winter trees von Gilbert Spencer für GBP 750,00 (€ 945,94) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man at a sluice gate on the Thames im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.695,82).
