Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Harpooned by Gifford Beal for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,433.35). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gifford Beal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fish Houses, Winter Day in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 100,788.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Harpooned von Gifford Beal für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.433,35) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gifford Beal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fish Houses, Winter Day im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 100.788,39).
