Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gervase Spencer could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages auction, the work Unknown changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 450.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gervase Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Young Boy, Circa 1750 in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,632.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gervase Spencer konnte im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages wechselte die Arbeit Unknown für GBP 375,00 (€ 450,90) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gervase Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Boy, Circa 1750 im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.632,01).
